Action Alert Service

World Stewardship Institute and BroadLink Communications,
in cooperation with EcoWatch,
would like to invite you to participate in our new

ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION ALERT E-MAIL SERVICE.

When it comes to enhancing the quality of life in our communities, we believe every effort counts. Please join us in our campaign to make a positive difference for the environment and for the future.

About the service

We created this service to provide you with an easy and effective way of becoming an ecosteward-- by sending letters to key decision-makers when environmental decisions hang in the balance.

Our goal is to enact positive change and to help you make your voice heard on a variety of environmental issues and legislation. This service focuses primarily on California state issues and national issues. We also alert Sonoma County residents to local occurances affecting our environment, using information from Sonoma County Conservation Action and other groups. We collaborate with a number of larger environmental organizations on many issues and generate additional alerts based on current news reports. This simple service is time-efficient and maximizes our influence by consolidating our efforts with those of other organizations. In addition, we lighten your load by sticking to issues that we feel we have a good chance of influencing through letter writing campaigns.

About us

World Stewardship Institute (WSI) is a Sonoma County-based nonprofit organization that works cooperatively with business, science, and faith groups to cultivate environmental stewardship. BroadLink Communications, who is sponsoring this project, is an environmentally concerned small business that provides high-speed wireless Internet service. We are pleased to be working with EcoWatch, an Environmental Action Alert Service established by Madeline Sone, a self-supported activist who has used her resources to acquire public support for numerous environmental campaigns over the past ten years.

How it works

After you subscribe, you will be e-mailed two to five action alerts per week, along with form letters. (For a sample, please see our previous alerts.) Letters may be sent as written, but we encourage adding some of your own words to personalize the correspondence. Then, simply e-mail the letter to the indicated party or print it out and send it.  Ultimately, you can read, refine and send letters in a matter of minutes.

Cost of service

The e-mail service is free for WSI members donating $50 or more. For others the service is $20-$100 per year, based on desired donation. Bear in mind that donations are tax deductible. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the service, you may cancel your subscription within 30 days for a full refund.

How to sign up

If you are interested in making a difference, please sign up today.  If you have any questions, please contact Larry McCowan at: larry@ecostewards.org or (707) 578-7229 x 115.

Thank you for your action

We highly recommend going to the California League of Conservation Voters website to obtain information on politics and the environment. The League mobilizes California voters to support environmentally responsible candidates and issues, and serves as a watchdog to hold elected officials accountable for their environmental votes.
